Hi all,
I have installed windows xp (service pack 2) on my pc.

I have provided 2gb space for SWAP partition and remaining for root (/).
I have done this manually.
Installation was completed, and ubuntu asked me to reboot the system. I did so.
Now comes my problem.......
I am getting some DHCP connection or some thing weird.......
after that i am getting a message ......and with a message asking me to press any key.....
the same thing is coming even after restarting the system....i am unable to see both windows and linux now!!!!!!!!!
I am totally confused......i dont know what to do???????
please help me out with this............

Hi and Welcome !
Does GRUB Menu appear at startup with choices to boot up Ubuntu and Windows OS? Does it throw any error message?
Boot up from Ubuntu LiveCD, open Terminal and execute this
Post output here.Code:sudo fdisk -l
* Its small L in fdisk -l.It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Press any key at startup. Shift, spacebar or Esc and check if GRUB Menu appear.
As I suggested in earlier, post the output of sudo fdisk -l command here.It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Looks like something has gone wrong with your install and your pc is trying to boot over the network.
Check your bios boot order and then try either reinstalling ubuntu or booting from live cd and run fdisk -l in a terminal.
You can then either try reinstalling ubuntu or fixing the grub boot menu.
