My experience about Ubuntu
Recently I have started using Ubuntu, and I found that on Linux OS the website I have come across were having viruses didn't showed any errors or virus popus. While on windows it always showed the viruses downloading on my system. Now, i understood why people says that linux is much much better than windows in terms of security.
But, another thing I have encounter about Ubuntu is that it is very slow as compare to windows. Can anyone explain it? I have latest hardware on my pc with high configurations, still i m facing the slowdown issues. Also, it will be better if you all will write their experience about their choice of OS they have.

Can you give us some more details about your experience? What, precisely, do you feel is slow? Is it a specific program, like the web browser? If so, is it on all websites or only certain ones (such as IMDB)? Is it the general desktop itself? Do you have 3D desktop effects turned on? What sort of video hardware do you have, and have you downloaded any drivers for it? What other specs does your computer have?

Welcome to the forums!
It sounds like you might have some configuration problems that need correction or hardware issues of some kind because Linux should run at least as fast as Windows. You'll need to provide more details as already indicated by techieMo before anyone can offer much assistance.oz
