Linksys wusb54gc Version 3 will not work

Hi,

I have seen all the forum threads about this dongle, but I cannot get the darn thing to work. I did make; make install on RT2870_LinuxSTA_V2.3.0.0 (the 2009_0820 version did not compile) and all went well. (I did this both with the wpa_supplicant variables set to "y" and "n") I blacklisted the rt2800usb. The rt2870sta module doesn't seem to load on boot, but I don't care about that now. I can modprobe rt2870sta and it goes in just fine, but the dongle never blinks, and iwconfig never returns anything about it.

I can certainly send you dmesg output and/or anything you might like to see, but I am about to return the dongle and send back the lovely Toshiba Satellite p505.

Forgot to say this is a brand new install of 9.10 64-bit.
