Connection Sharing Difficulties
Hi there,
I've recently reinstalled Ubuntu 9.10 on this machine which has a wireless card plugged into it. When I had XP on here I was able to enable connection sharing between my wireless card and ethernet port so as to have internet on whatever I have plugged into the other end of that ethernet cable at the time, be it a laptop or xbox.
I've searched and searched over multiple forums and thought I might get some help here. Many tutorials mention setting the IPv4 on wlan0 to Auto DHCP and having the eth0 set to shared.
This so far hasn't gotten me any further in my process.
Thanks for any advice or help in advance

You can do this, but you need to configure your system as a router and network gateway. There are HowTos on the internet which will help you do this. Here is a link which may help: Howto Share internet connection - Ubuntu Forums
FWIW, it took me about 3 seconds to find this link with the google search term "ubuntu connection sharing"...Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.

Thanks for your help on finding that link for me, although I did try it and got as far as installing 'ipmasq'. It appears that the package required has been discontinued on 9.10. Is there another way to do this? I've quite a few methods so far and just can't seem to find an up-to-date one.
Thanks.

Well, since this was posted on the Ubuntu forums, I would suggest posting your question there. I'm sure someone will be able to help get you over this hurdle.
