Problems booting Mac partition with ubuntu installed

Okay, here's what I did. I had windows installed on bootcamp for mac. When I installed ubuntu, i replaced the windows partition with ubuntu, but in order to do so, I had to have my mac boot from the windows partition/install CD. Ubuntu is running fine, and it shows my mac partition in GRUB, but when i select my mac partition, my mac automatically boots from the ubuntu partition(formerly windows) with bootcamp instead of loading my Mac operating system.

How do I get my Mac to boot from my Mac partition, if bootcamp is set to run ubuntu, and how do I change the bootcamp settings from ubuntu/GRUB?

I tried holding down option during bootup, but it won't load startup manager(mac) for some reason. It just loads GRUB instead.

What you can try are the next three following things. First you can try reinstalling GRUB by using the live CD. The next thing you can try is using GRUB 2.0 which could be found with some googleing. The last thing I suggest is instead of messing with a pricey mac is delete the Ubuntu partition with a program like Gparted. Now you might be saying no dude I still want Ubuntu. Well a simple solution. Buy a 8 or 16GB flash and download unetbootin on your mac and easily make your flash into a bootable disk which gives you most things it can do just have it plugged in. I have a guide on it by going to google then knol and search how to revive a dead computer by anonymous tech. The guide is not exactly correct but you should figure it out easily.
