    n00b help/Linux Mint

im new to Linux and using Mint, which I've heard is an Ubuntu distro. anyway, i was messing around with the look of it and i deleted the menu from the panel. well, i didn't delete it so much as i disabled its icon and text, so i think thats the same as deleting it. and now, when i add MintMenu to the panel it shows up the same way, i.e., invisible and inaccessible.

so, the question is...how do i access its settings so i can fix this? before i would right click on it, but sinces its not theree...feh, sorry if i sound like a moron, im just really new to this.

Hi and welcome to the forums!

I was messing around with the look of it and i deleted the menu from the panel
You would not believe the things I have done when I was still starting to mess around with linux
It is however in this times that I started to learn and understand more and more about its nature and character.

I've heard is an Ubuntu distro
Yes it is an ubuntu derivative. May I ask what version of Mint you are using please?

i didn't delete it so much as i disabled its icon and text, so i think thats the same as deleting it. and now, when i add MintMenu to the panel it shows up the same way, i.e., invisible and inaccessible.
So if I undertand it right, whenever you click the Start button at the lower left portion of the desktop, nothing shows up but an empty menu? Is that right?
