n00b help/Linux Mint
im new to Linux and using Mint, which I've heard is an Ubuntu distro. anyway, i was messing around with the look of it and i deleted the menu from the panel. well, i didn't delete it so much as i disabled its icon and text, so i think thats the same as deleting it. and now, when i add MintMenu to the panel it shows up the same way, i.e., invisible and inaccessible.
so, the question is...how do i access its settings so i can fix this? before i would right click on it, but sinces its not theree...feh, sorry if i sound like a moron, im just really new to this.

Hi and welcome to the forums!
You would not believe the things I have done when I was still starting to mess around with linuxI was messing around with the look of it and i deleted the menu from the panel
It is however in this times that I started to learn and understand more and more about its nature and character.
Yes it is an ubuntu derivative. May I ask what version of Mint you are using please?I've heard is an Ubuntu distro
So if I undertand it right, whenever you click the Start button at the lower left portion of the desktop, nothing shows up but an empty menu? Is that right?i didn't delete it so much as i disabled its icon and text, so i think thats the same as deleting it. and now, when i add MintMenu to the panel it shows up the same way, i.e., invisible and inaccessible.Last edited by nujinini; 04-03-2010 at 01:16 AM.
