Hi,

I just loaded ubuntu 9.10 on an old PIII in dual boot mode with win98SE.

The pc has a DS-XG YMY470 Yamaha sound card, and the sound is available in Win98SE.

In ubuntu, there is no sound at all.

I tried some diagonistics with the following results:


aplay –l
aplay: device_list:223: no soundcard found...

lspci –v
00:09.0 Multimedia audio controller : Yamaha Corporation DS1L Audio
Flags : medium devsel, IRQ 12
Memory at e6000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [Size=32k]
Capabilities : <access denied>.

Is there any way to get the sound started, or do I need to change this card ?
