    New to Linux - Problem with installing app in wine

    Hi all,

    I am totally new to Linux OS's and have installed Ubuntu - I have installed wine and started the process of adding windows based applications - I am trying to install Adobe Captivate 3.

    I have found the directory in a terminal screen, started the autorun and it seemed to start fine then fell into a loop with this message..

    Can someone let me know what this means..

    fixme:keyboard:X11DRV_ActivateKeyboardLayout 0x4090409, 0000: stub!
    fixme:shdocvw:PersistStorage_InitNew (0xa496c0)->(0xc364e

    Sorry for being stupid about this, it's a new thing and trying the self teach method!

    Thanks!

    Unfortunately, not all Windows software runs under Wine. Go to the WineHQ - Run Windows applications on Linux, BSD, Solaris and Mac OS X website to see what applications are certified to work. I have had good results with a number of Adobe applications, but definitely not all of them. I can run Framemaker 7.0, Photoshop 7.0, and Photoshop CS.
    Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
    Just remember, Semper Gumbi - always be flexible!
