Gnome 3 upgrade problems/ Grub 2 default boot option
I'm trying to get Gnome 3 on my Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx by following these directions exactly:
How To Install Gnome 3 Shell in Ubuntu Karmic Koala
When I put this in the terminal
I get this:Code:sudo apt-get install gnome-shell
And when I try this:Code:Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. The following information may help resolve the situation: The following packages have unmet dependencies: gnome-shell: Depends: libgjs0 but it is not going to be installed E: Broken packages
I get this:Code:sudo apt-get install libgjs0
Now, I tried it in Synaptic Package Manager also, and it didn't work, even though I have all the possible software sources enabled (backports, restricted, everything)Code:Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. The following information may help resolve the situation: The following packages have unmet dependencies: libgjs0: Depends: xulrunner-1.9.1 (<= 1.9.1.9~) but 1.9.1.9+nobinonly-0ubuntu1 is to be installed E: Broken packages
and have xulrunner installed (all its forms, like the debug version etc.) but it still doesn't work.
So, am I just gonna have to wait for a proper release of Gnome 3, or is there something I'm doing wrong?
Also, while I'm on this post, I might as well ask how to change the default boot for the newest version of Grub 2?
Thanks for any help.

I suppose you could find the binaries of the packages out there on the wild wild web and self-compile, but if I had to take a guess the people working on this code are still drinking their Mt. Dew and working hard to get this working on it's own. My advice is to wait for them to unbreak it, but I'm guessing since I'm using KDE anyway. I wish you luck though, and I hope if you do find the packages and compile your own that it works like a charm.
