    Playing CD

    Dear Friend,

    While I'm inserting a CD in the drive it is not playing. How to solve? Please guide.

    Which version of Ubuntu are you using? What kind of CD are you trying to play? Audio or Video?
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    Thanks for your cooperation. I'm using the latest released version of Ubuntu. Practically I'm trying to play both audio and video.

    Install ubuntu-restricted-extras package. It enable support for most of media formats.
    Execute this in Terminal to install it :
    Code:
    sudo apt-get clean all
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras
    Your machine must have internet access to install package through above method.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    As you advised, I have executed the code in Terminal. Thereafter I inserted the CD in the drive. But I'm yet to get any result.

    What type of CD is it? Have you checked its contents under Places Menu?
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
