HP Mini 110 no Wifi in Netbook Remix 9.1

Hello everybody. I have just installed Ubuntto Netbook Remix 9.1 on my HP Mini 110, and spent many hours today trying to get my wifi to work, all to no avail. I'm attaching the wireless document waterhead outlined for this sort of problem. Basically, the wifi light stays orange all of the time. The only exception is when I install the non=proprietary Broadcom driver (without installing the other one), but I still can't see any wireless connections. I have also tried installing wicd in place of network manager. Thanks for any help you guys might be able to offer. This is really killing me.

Does this output a list of available networks? Or give an error message?

    Code:
    sudo ifconfig eth2 up
    sudo iwlist eth2 scan

Exactly what did you uninstall/install to try to get your wifi working. UNR comes with drivers that should have worked for your wifi out fo the box.

No, it doesn't show any available networks. It just says "sudo: unknown host
    ifconfig: '--help' gives usage information.

Originally, this netbook was running Gnome "out of the box". Yesterday, I decided to do a clean install of Netbook Remix. The only extras I installed to try and get wifi working were the Broadcom wireless drivers and wicd (which I have since uninstalled).

Check iwconfig and see that it's still labeled eth2. The wl driver has a tendency to relabel the device name on reboots.

It looks like it's still labeled correctly. Bear with me, since Im new to Linux, but when I type in iwconfig in the terminal, it says eth2 IEEE 802.11 Nickname:""
    Access Point: Not-Associated.

Thanks for your replies, by the way.
