    Ubuntu faulty internet

Hello all, I registered here and got Ubuntu a couple days ago. After setting up and connecting to my wireless LAN I went on the internet and uploaded the WINE source. However, after about 5-10 seconds of staying on the internet it all of a sudden stopped working (the internet stopped its connectivity) that is. And I was still connected to the wireless LAN. I tried to reconnect like most people would do, and I was not able to connect again (Would prompt me for password continuously to no avail).

There isn't a problem on my windows 7 (I'm able to connect to LAN/internet)

I can provide any code from the terminal to help solve the problem if asked to do so.
Any ideas? I like ubuntu and I'd love to use it with internet

also keep in mind I'm a noobie to networking so it would be appreciated if any resolutions were "spelled out" for me.

    thanks! -kevin

I too had a problem and was agrivated with no internet. So my suggestion... well it worked at one point and it still works on win7. So what I would say you should do is try to find your driver online for win7... how to do so well I'll give you the code here. Open up a terminal. type in "lspci" without quotation. The second one should be your wireless card model like so (03:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8101E/RTL8102E P)
The model is RTL8101E. If you can hook up an ethernet cord and do the following or download the next two things, put it on a flash, and install on your linux side of the computer. From here go to google and search your card. Don't bother finding a linux driver as you most likely will not find it and spend hours looking for something very rare or non-existent. Once that is found download it. Now you can do it in terminal but to me it's easier to use the software center. So open that up and search ndiswrapper. It will be labeled windows wireless drivers. Install that and with the wireless driver find a file that is labeled .inf. You can try a search but if that doesn't work just look in each folder (may take awhile but well worth it). Now open up ndiswrapper. Add a new one to the list and use the .inf file you found earlier. activate it, restart and hopefully this might work. Hope this helps tell me how it goes!

Sometimes you can reset your router and things will work again.
