    i upgraded from 9.04 to ubuntu studio...

    and now i wanna go back. studio will not let me watch hulu and there are other conflicts with audio and video... i just want to go back to good old 9.04, or else update to the newest/best release...
    how do i do this? and what distro should i go to?

    I think a fresh install with 10.04 (or 9.04 if you prefer it) might be your best option. You should be able to install it right over the current system partitions.

    so do i need to download 10.04 and write to dvd?

    or can i do this through terminal?

    To do a fresh install, you'll need to download the ISO file for the Ubuntu version of your choice, burn the ISO file to disk as an image, then boot with the newly created installation disk and install the system to the hard drive.
