    They are in the Synaptic package manager listing. I had the same problem and had to install a lot of them in order to get ones that I thought should have been installed by default. Go figure! I suspect it is that way because Ubuntu is used on a lot of laptop/netbook computers with minimal disc space, though I don't think they take up so much room as to matter.
    Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
