    Emergency problem: GNOME error Please help me!

    Hello my friends! yesterday when starting my pc i sow a new problem:

    OAFIID: GNOME_FastUserSwitchApplet
    Delete Don't Delete

    I think that before 2-3 days, when i was having a problem with the toolbar (delete it by mistake), that i've installed something like "Fast user switch". After that i find what missing, installed it and come up toolbar again! Now there is an error:

    OAFIID: GNOME_FastUserSwitchApplet
    Delete Don't Delete

    I have only one user in the pc. I don't need some "Fast user switch". I have read many posts about this problem - tried a lot of commands, but still have the problem. Please help me resolve it!
    I want to delete it if is possible, because i don't need another user.
    Please help me!

    Click Delete.

    It will only delete it from the panel, and you will still be able to add another user when and if you want to.

    Just won't be able to fast switch to it. Only slow switch - logoff and logon

    Regards
    Luis

    First thank u very much for the unswer!
    Second - of course i hit "delete"...but i still see the error after every restart!
    I thought about "search" for someone of the words fast/user/switch/applet...and i found 2 files look like "locked". I don't know what to do?
    I want to delete it and be able only for slow switch, but how?
    Please help !

    Edit: from Synaptic Package Manager i don't know for what to search.

    Oh, well, in that case I don't really know how to help you. You may need someone that knows more about gnome.

    Any way, if you have the option to add fastuserswitch to the panel, try to add it and remove it again. My guess is that you can't

    Hope someone else may help,
    Luis

    I found out now that gdm conflits with fast-user-switch-applet package

    see Conflicts: line on
    $ apt-cache show gdm

    I'm using 9.10. Just a hint, not a solution

    Try
    $ sudo apt-get purge fast-user-switch-applet

    If no go, post the output of
    $ dpkg -l |grep fast-user-switch-applet
