CPU at 98% long after ripping CD!

    Hi,

The fan on my laptop is constantly running after ripping a track from CD. Entering "top" into terminal reveals this:

    Code:

    top - 12:20:13 up 1:01, 2 users, load average: 1.21, 0.96, 0.49
    Tasks: 128 total, 3 running, 125 sleeping, 0 stopped, 0 zombie
    Cpu(s): 1.3%us, 0.7%sy, 97.3%ni, 0.0%id, 0.0%wa, 0.7%hi, 0.0%si, 0.0%st
    Mem: 896172k total, 448328k used, 447844k free, 29160k buffers
    Swap: 393584k total, 0k used, 393584k free, 223420k cached

PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND

    3238 mbdb 26 6 5080 1676 1024 R 98.2 0.2 30:18:.78 oggenc o

    1355 root 20 0 381m 27m 9m R 1.7 3.2 41:03.60 Xorg

So the first line explains it, even long after closing Rubyripper its still hogging the CPU.
Also there's another strange thing going on. I set Rubyripper to rip to Vorbis. The resultant .ogg file is empty and a second .wav file is generated.

Anyone have any ideas how to sort this?
    Thanks

Anyone have any thoughts on this?
I've played around with this and confirmed this only happens on Vorbis, ripping to MP3 is just fine.
Vorbis sets the CPU running at 99% until I reboot and generates the file anomalies I described above.
