Cannot make Nautilus autoopen my CD/DVD

    I need your help:
I can't have autorun of data or video DVDs and CDs in Lucid. The system simply just won't open the disk in Nautilus. It is such an annoyance that I can barely bear.
I've even added the CD and DVD in fstab, but no use. Since those assholes replaced HAL with DeviceKit, I have to open the removable media manually. I've set the behavior of Nautilus to browse media upon insertion but no use. I've even installed all the hal - packages, but that doesn't help. HELP!!!
If you need a CD/DVD catalogizer, give a try to my program:

I am using Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid

Ubuntu is really a Love/Hate relationship. I love some of the things they are doing, while others make me bang my head on the wall, lol.

I am not sure if this will help but it is worth a try.

Right click the applications menu and left click "edit Menus."

Click on "System Tools" then check the "Configuration Editor" Box. Close the Menu Editor. Now in your applications menu you should see the system tools>configuration editor, click on it.

    Under... apps>nautilus>preferences>

you will see on the right side some names for media autorun (key names)

    *
    /apps/nautilus/preferences/media_autorun_x_content_start_app
Next to that, right of it, this is what I have in mine.
    [x-content/audio=cdda,x-content/video-dvd]
    *
    media_autorun_x_content_open_folder
    [x-content/software]
Keep in mind that this one should NOT say the same thing mine says. I have the autostart turned off on this next one.

    *
    media_autorun_x_content_ignore
    [x-content/blank-cd,x-content/blank-dvd]
and the one right above it is:

    *
    media_autorun_never
and the box is NOT checked. The one above that is
    media_automount
    and that box IS checked.

I am not sure if this will help at all but my auto mounts work fine, maybe it is something you can change with that to get it working the way you want.

I think I found the error. It is with the package udev, libudev and libgudev: with versions 151-5 I could have my system running. Still I'd need this versions of the above mentioned packages, to downgrade the currently installed 151-12 versions. They are shipped with 10.04 beta1, and I don't have them.
