Installed AfterStep but can't find it?

Hello everyone, I'm running ubuntu 9.10 (and love it). Using Synaptic Package manager, I downloaded AfterStep. It was downloaded and installed but i cannot seem to find it anywhere. Anyone know why this would happen? and is there a step i'm missing?
Please help me get AfterStep going.

    Thanks in advance, Steve

You'll probably find it when you log out of your current desktop session and log back in, but you need to select Afterstep from the login menu first.

When you start your machine and it boots up, do you see a sceen where you need to type in your username? If yes, that is the login screen. You should see a little icon on the bottom that will let you select which desktop to log into.

Sure thing, I'm just curious...do you not want a graphical desktop?
