    did you install any codec ?
    I had the same problem, aftter installing codecs , they both worked .

    well , I didnt install directly , Kubuntu notfied me that you need to install codecs for Audio and Video ; and showd me an Install Button , I ckicked on that and all the codes installed .
    I think you haveto search in Ubuntu repository to find codecs .
    try to install MP3 and MPEG codecs , it is what Kububtu wanted me to install .
