Its the same in Ubuntu too, just plug and play

but maybe some other issue is there.
After connecting the thumb drive, open a terminal and type dmesg | tail -n 30
Post back the output given.Last edited by raghaven.kumar; 06-02-2010 at 05:48 AM.

Hi and Welcome !
Which version of Ubuntu are you using?
Plug-in thumb drive, open Terminal and execute this
Post output here.Code:tail -s 3 -f /var/log/messages df -h
If there isn't any problem with thumb drive then you can access it contents in Ubuntu without any problem.[2] my friend's has a XP pc , he has copied something into a thumb drive.
will i be able to read the content from my ubuntu laptop ?It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
