    Sharing a database

    Hi,

I am new to Linux and have installed Ubuntu on my system along with Windows XP (Dual boot). I would like to find out if there is a way to share a database between these two operating systems.

Currently, I have a Microsoft Access database which I would like to use in either OS. I understand that Access probably won't work in Linux so I am willing to go to a different DB application as long as I can access it from both operating systems. Database is very simple. It allows you to input into an Access Form and then allows you to print a simply one page report based on the data just entered.

Thank you in advance for any help.

One more thing to add. It would be great if the recommendation is based on some 'portable' database software (like Access) instead of MSSQL vs MySQL based which may require a lot more configuration. (I am new to Linux).

I seems like I am talking to myself but I think I may have found an answer. What about Open Office database? It is available in both Windows and Linux. Does anyone know if the database file itself is same between the versions? I will have to try it as soon as I can get to my dual-boot system.
