Wink email server, get a way from windows!

    Hi all.

Im lost in the maze of email server setups and configurations. I have setup ubuntu web servers before, which i might add was easy!.

But my boss said to me the other day, we need to start cutting costs in the it department!. Ha I said, the it department hasn't upgraded in 15 years!, this led to a large debate, and me cursing him.

However, I need a email server setup that i can use microsoft outlook to pick up emails from. i would like a web based interface as well for reading emails etc, and if possible a web based interface for configuration.

I will have no monitor attached to this, so i will be using ssh on setup, and it's possible that if boss like it we may need multiple domains

    Any help would be appreciated!

My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

I see, do i cause problems by having Apache installed if i want web pages on a different web server(separate machine). I understand that i need Apache if im to use web based management, but iv'e never done the separate servers, one for webpages and one for email.

Nope. You can install what you want on what servers you need to.

    You might take a look at horde3 / imp4

This combination is pretty powerfull, has a pretty good webinterface.
And since this framework talks imap/smtp to your server, you immediately have the outlook-client thing fixed.
Unless you also need calendering support. I do not know how you can achieve this in a linux environment.
