    You may try to boot ubuntu (what version?) and run on a terminal
    $ sudo update-grub

    If that don't work, post your /boot/grub/grub.cfg file and the output of
    $ sudo fdisk -l

    Regards
    Luis

    is your ubuntu can run?if not,you may use the XP's PE system and try to repair the boot.ini file!

    hmm, it may just be running a checkdisk without display, had this problem as my win7 partiton has no gui boot for speed reasons (thought it was hung), let it sit for 30-60 min and see if it reboots or boots

    Which version of Ubuntu are you using? Is it a fresh installation? Boot up Ubuntu ( or boot up from Ubuntu LiveCD ), open Terminal and execute this
    Code:
    sudo fdisk -l
    Post output here.

    * Its small L in fdisk -l.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
