Kubuntu live CD problems
Hi!
I downloaded the Kubuntu Live CD x64 bit.
If I try to boot it, the screen goes black (after boot picture is done booting), and my screen says "Cable not connected".
I tried the "in Windows installer" aswell, and same problem.

Hello and welcome to the forums!
If you haven't done so already, you might try the "alternate installer" (text only installer) disk. It always works really well for me whereas the liveCD installer fails each time.oz

You can download the alternate installer ISO file here:
Index of /ubuntu/kubuntu/10.04/
...or the direct link is:
http://mirrors.gigenet.com/ubuntu/ku...nate-amd64.iso
It will be menu driven, so you'll need to simply burn the ISO file to disk as an image, then boot with it like you do the liveCD version, and instead of being a live distribution it will offer guided menus to help you through the installation. Once done, you'll remove the installation disk and reboot into Kubuntu.Last edited by oz; 06-13-2010 at 12:37 AM. Reason: URL corrections

Which Graphics Card do you have? Have you tried to use Safe Graphics settings in LiveCD options?
You can download Alternate Installation CD of Kubuntu from here. Select Alternate CD.It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

You are facing Graphics Card problem only. Alternate installation will work fine and its easy to install ATI Proprietary driver after successful installation.

Well, the screen turns black and I get this message from the monitor, not the OS itself: "Cable not connected".
I'm using a HDMI cable, if it matters.
Intel Core 2 Duo E8500
ATI Radeon 5770
