Visual effects and compiz reset, no window manager.
Hey all,
Since about a week i'm suddenly having huge problems with ubuntu.
Everytime I boot up, I have no window manager (meaning: no bars with title and minimize/close/maximize buttons)
My screenlets are also gone.
When go to appearance => visual effects it is set back to 'none' instead of 'extra'
When I put it back, everything is normal again, with the exception that the viewports are back to a 4x1 formation, instead of my 2x2.
This is pretty annoying doing this at every boot.
I tried a few things trying to fix it but nothing helped.
I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 with 2.6.32-22 kernel.
Normally I would just format but I got examination right now so no time for it.
Anyone knows how to fix this? it can be a quick and dirty fix I don't care, I'll be formatting in 2 weeks anyways.
Thanks.
