    Installing a new Brother printer+scanner

    Good morning you all.

    About a week ago I installed my first Linux (Ubuntu 10.04). Since then I've been trying to get my printer to work by following some of the instructions on the web.
    Unfortunately, as a newbie, I can't seem to get it right...

    The printer is - Brother DCP-135C.

    Pls help.

    have you tried going into the default printer app under preferences? this should allow you to select your printer. is it usb? you could go to a terminal and type sudo lsusb. post output of this.

    Thnx hatebreed for your replay.

    I don't seem to have the default printer upp under preferences.
    But I did go into Administration-->Printing-->New printer and tried there with not much luck.

    Here is the output of "sudo lsusb" in terminal:

    brother DCP-135

    Go to Brother Solutions Center, find DCP-130C click on link and below the picture of the printer you will see solutions then linux, follow that lead and you will find the needed drivers. Good luck and let us know how it went.
