Install Mac OS X 10.4 using .dmg inside linux

Hi, so I'm using an iBook G3 which is currently running Panther (OS X 10.3.9). I've also installed Ubuntu PPC 10.04 alongside it (though the wifi doesn't work...). However, I'd really like to upgrade to OS X 10.4 (Tiger). The problem is, although I have a dvd to install it with, the G3's drive only supports CD's. I was wondering if it would be possible to take the .dmg of tiger, get it onto the linux partition, and run an installation from there? If this isn't possible, are there any other ways of installing Tiger without purchasing an external usb dvd drive?

    Thanks!

I doubt you can. I don't know much about OS X but I'm almost completely sure you can't run the OS X installer from Linux. However, you could put the .dmg on a partition and find a bootloader which may be able to boot the image. Googling reveals plenty of info.
