Flash video issues under Firefox 3.6.3 on Ubuntu 10.04 (64 bit)

    Hi,
I have Ubuntu 10.04 64bit and in the last few days I have been experiencing some weird issues with youtube flash videos under Firefox 3.6.3.
The video is loaded normally and I am able to watch at it but, all of a sudden, video and audio disappear without apparent reasons. If I want to go on watching, I have to reload the page.
Is there anyone who knows how to fix the problem? Thanks so much in advance.
    Best regards.
    Stefano

You are probably using the 32 bit flash plug-in with the 64 bit Ubuntu.
Adobe abandoned us 64 bit users then pulled the 64 bit version from their site due to security issues with that version.

    You can check this post from the Coffee Lounge which talks about the plug-in going missing and also has a link to the source code download that someone wisely saved to their server;

Another possibility is that the flash plug-in is crashing. But that usually causes the Firefox browser to vaporize into thin air. Been happening to me on several flash intensive sites.
I have read that the next version of Firefox will isolate the flash plug-in from the browser so if it crashes it will not affect Firefox.

    [seems solved]

Hi, I think I solved that problem by changing the line
    export GDK_NATIVE_WINDOWS=1
    in
    export GDK_NATIVE_WINDOWS=true firefox
    in the file
    /usr/lib/nspluginwrapper/i386/linux/npviewer

Thanks a lot for your reply.
    Cheers

And Thank You for that update.
I'll keep that in my notes in case I come across this problem on other systems.
