    [SOLVED] multiboot help really needed!!!

    hello

    ive been running windows xp and ubuntu 10.4 on a dual boot for a bit now and decided to add the intel version of osx to my multi boot.

    i created a partition and installed osx without any problems.

    the only problem is, now when i turn my pc on all it sees it windows xp and i dont no enoguth to know how to fix it.

    how can i sort this problem out???

    sorry if this is in the wrong forum area but i didnt see where to put it.

    any help would be great.

    if i cant get it all working, i at least want to get xp and ubuntu back to normal

    Hello and Welcome buzz86!

    1) Boot from a live cd of ubuntu and go to terminal.
    2) Execute $ sudo fdisk -l (l is a small L)
    3( Post the output here.

    I think we might just have to repair your grub. It's surprisingly easy to fix

    ok so i executed that and this is the results

    i fort it would be easy i just don't have enough knowledge of linux and grub to fix it myself.

    Please don't hesitate to post any problems or questions you might encounter. I am not well versed with grub2 that ubuntu 9.10 and above is using but I'm pretty confident that the gurus in the forum can help.

    ok so i gave that a go and from start it wasnt working

    heres the outcome

    you must specify the filesystem type 
    i tried some other stuff but i didn't get anywhere.

    i got work tomoro and kinda want this sorted so i can use ubuntu at work.

    thank you very much nujinini, that did the job.

    i now have grub back and can get into ubuntu to configure my grub boot loader and add burg to it.

    again thanks very much for the help its much appreacheated.

    this forum is great i also posted this question on ubuntu's forum and got no reply
