After an 8.04 update things got hot!!
About once a week or so the little triangle appears on my monitor indicating that another update is ready.
i ran the update manager and noticed that among other things there was an update for the Firefox and Epiphany browsers!!
After the update was installed I got off-line and went to print an article I have saved. Unfortunately when I click such articles firefox opens them up.
That did not happen - a box appeared with information that puzzled me so I tried to get rid of it and my computer fan went on full.
I tried to shut my computer off but it would not shut off and the " force quit " was not working and I was beginning to smell the distinct odor of electrical burn so I jumped up and pulled the plug for my computer out of the wall!
I do not know what happened but my Epiphany browser loads real slow now!!
I am thankful that pulling the plug quickly averted my computer from burning up!
Anyone have any thought about what might have caused this?? Thanks!Linux registered user # 414321

I have had had a quick Google but not found anything yet.
Is the article a HTML file saved from the web?
Does this only happen when you open these articles? If we hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate! (Zapp Brannigan)
My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

Elija, I think my old firefox and the new firefox were just fighting each other for control of my computer. If I just click one of my saved articles now a pop up appears telling me that firefox can not find the URL.
What I do now is just open my saved articles using Galeon so that firefox is not involved at all!!
Both opera and firefox are programmed to overwhelm the computers they are installed on which is why I do not like them and do not use them.
