    [SOLVED] HP Pavillion dv6000

    i have a HP Pavillion dv6000
    Can I get rid of vista and load Ubuntu 10.4 as a clean install and have my fingerprint reader/wireless/bluetooth etc working without to much trouble and also use my canon mp270 printer. Currently I am unable to use the printer no driver seems to work..

    Easiest way to find out is to boot up a live CD/USB and see what works and what doesn't.

    The printer appears to have a driver for it. Looks like you'll need to compile it yourself, though.

    found a driver that works
    MP270_debian_driver_pack.tar
    Tried the live disk but could'nt get the net, but loaded as clean install on my desktop and managed to get the net working..

    I bit the bullet and scubed my hard drive put Ubuntu 10.04 on and with a bit of patience got all systems to work..
