    New computer

    Alright,

I'm building my first computer and Im not sure about two things. First of all I'm not sure how to install Ubuntu. I have only ran it as a partition and am not sure the process i need to go through to install it on a newly built machine.
My second question is that when i partitioned it ( was kinda giving it a test run to see if i could cope with the change from windows) I remember not being able to run world of warcraft. I couldn't get wine to run it. I want to run starcraft II and I'm not sure how thats going to go over. Is that going to give me a problem?
I realize these should probably be separate threads but i figured these could be answered relatively easily.

Thank you for any help you can provide a Linux Newb

You can download an ISO (32 or 64 bit version) depending on your system.
    Burn it on a CD.
    Boot from live CD.
Install using available installer found on desktop.

or you can use a pen drive.

Welcome to the forum. As usual nujinini has put it better than I can. Installing Ubuntu 10.04 is straight forward and easy, all the tools you need are on the live CD, and the wizards lead you through the process.

Hello and welcome to the forums!

You can check out the videos below at YouTube showing how to install Ubuntu, but the self-guided menu that comes with the installer is easy enough to follow that I doubt any additional instructions will be necessary for you to accomplish a successful install:

    YouTube - install ubuntu 10.04

Let us know how it goes.

Check this link for steps to burn an ISO file to disk as an image:

You can download the ISO file from the downloads page at the Ubuntu website:
