    Ubuntu and truecrypt

I have a flash drive installation of ubuntu, and now, when I try to mount a truecrypt drive, I get the following error message:

According to mtab, truecrypt is already mounted on /tmp/.truecrypt/aux/mnt1.

I badly need to edit mtab.

    This is on Ubuntu 10.04.

The drive is not listed in fstab, so no help there.

Rebooting is of no help. I have read that you aren't supposed to edit mtab, because it is created from fstab. Obviously this is not the case in my situation.

    Please help!

    Stubbs.

    Hi and Welcome !

Have you checked /tmp/.truecrypt/aux/mnt1 folder? Is there anything in it?

Post the output of sudo fdisk -l and df -h commands here.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
