Youtube not working in Firefox 3.6.8 Ubuntu 10.04

If I gksudo Firefox Youtube works fine - no addons.

If I start Firefox Normally, I get all my addons but Youtube doesn't work.

I get sound, but no video.

Using gksudo, I thought it might be a permissions issue, so I tried changing
the permissions of the Mozilla Folder with:

    chmod -R 777 /usr/lib/mozilla

    No difference.

Tried downloading the tar from Adobe unzipping it and adding the
libflashplayer.so to the plugins folder. No Diff.

    Tried:

    removing / purging

    and installing

    flashplugin-nonfree

    No Diff.

Thought maybe it was an addon problem. Disabled all addons. No Diff.

One last thing, Youtube works fine in the latest version of Google Chrome and
the latest version of Opera seems to suggest it's something specific to Firefox.

When it works, the plugin display simply shows:

    Shockwave Flash 10.1 r53

When it doesn't the display is:

    the same with this added:

    id: libflashplayer.so

    Anyone?
