Create a bootable Grub legacy disk?
I would like to have a bootable disk that starts Grub legacy (not Grub 2). I have the /boot/grub/menu.lst that works for my system. When I had a floppy disk I used the option to create same from Startup Manager, but haven't found a way to create a similar disk.

Thank you, but I don't have a floppy drive and the alternate way doesn't work.

The last time I made a bootable GRUB CD, I simply copied the disk image from a bootable GRUB floppy over to a CD and that worked, but if you don't have a floppy drive you could try using this HowTo from the GRUB manual:
GNU GRUB Manual 1.98-r2508
I've never used it myself but have seen reports by others that it worked great for them.
Edit: oops, that manual page appears to be GRUB2. Maybe there is a similar page for GRUB Legacy. Otherwise, you could also consider using SuperGRUB.oz

That manual page for Grub 2 scares me. It may be a little over my head without some serious hand holding. Besides Grub 2 when I had it (I also have Ubuntu 10.04) conflicted with my Windows 7 bootloader; ergo I use grub legacy from Ubuntu 9.04.
In the past I did try using Super Grub and burned a CD. No joy.
Thanks for giving my problem your consideration.
