kubuntu vs. Fedora
I am really perplexed. Got a new barebones kit from Tiger Direct (Chips A15G with AMD Phenom Quad), and installed Fedora 13. All worked perfectly, except sound. No sound at all. I applied every 'fix' suggested on the various forums, and finally got sound ONLY on boot-up. No mp3, no streaming audio or video. Finally, I installed Kubuntu 10.04, and viola - everything I've tried so far work well. (volume is a bit low however) Can anyone here help me understand the maajor difference? Why does the built in soundcard (RealTel 97?) work in one but not the other??
I appreciate all info I can glean from this forum. Thanks!

Fedora doesn't include support for mp3 files or other non-free formats out of the box, *buntu does to a larger extent.
