Xubuntu 10.04 strange blackout & error
Hello everyone.
My Screen blacked out a few minutes ago and in the black screen there were some words in there
That I can barely remember but I do remember seeing Saved alsa mixer; and cupsd
and then it goes to the blinking bars and I have to reboot my computer.
Then after a little bit later it does it again!
Its really getting on my nerves now!!
How can this be corrected? :/

Andrew,
I had a problem where the screen would go dark. I got error messages that looked to be related to a battery issue but I was running Ubuntu on a desktop not a laptop. The nearest thing I could determine from lots of digging on-line is that it was due to a hardware issue with the older Dell CPU in my desktop system. I was able to swap this old system for a somewhat less old system and now I no longer see the problem.

I have heard of this issue, and from what I could tell, it had something to do with Pulse Audio.
Let me see if I can find a Post that someone used as a workaround the Pulse Audio Issue.
Linux Mint Forums • View topic - Sound disappeared from new system
kei84 was the one with the Workaround. I understand that you have not lost Audio, but this was in conjuntion with that issue you are describing.
Hope This Helps,
Dave

Dave68, Thank you for the reply.
But that actually wasnt the problem it was my graphics card!
But that resolution helped me get sound on my system!
When I traded hard drives and put this one in this dell dimension
I found out I had no sound! I couldnt watch videos record or anything!!
I kept searching the net for solutions but I had no luck. Then I decided to check
My post's on here and found yours!
Thank's for taking the time to read my post. And for solving my sound issue!
