    Hello,

    I would like to install Linux on a mac i just got its a g5 i checked the model number and it is ppc what ubuntu download is best to download for it?

    The PPC version? The Alternate disk (straight install) takes less memory than the Desktop disk (LiveCD).

    Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Lucid Lynx)

    Hmm would not boot i keep getting a folder on start up with a question mark that appears the discs just revs up o well i am new to this mac game so i guess i will have to find out what the problem is on there support page thanks for the info.

    Unlike PC, Macintosh computers do not have a BIOS, so in order to have it to boot from the Cd, you will need to keep the key c pressed during the boot
    (it seems to be right after / during the power-on sound).
