    [SOLVED] Choppy/Scratchy Playback:Totem Movie Player Mint 7

    Hello!

I have reinstalled my Mint 7 and whenever I play downloaded/saved videos from youtube, I get a choppy/scratchy audio & video in playback. This was not the case before I reinstalled.

Youtube videos played directly and other dvds played from CDrom and mp3s played from HD are however working fine. I can't seem to analyze this problem.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Do you have the same problem is you use a different media player? I would run one of the problem files with mplayer from the terminal and check the output for errors/problems.

    Hello!

No. VLC is fine in playback.

It only acts up when I playback downloaded videos .flv from youtube. Otherwise, if I play CDs DVDs and MP3s everythings is fine. But this is the first time I experience this though. Have no problems with totem since I started using it. I enjoy it in fact.

I would run one of the problem files with mplayer from the terminal and check the output for errors/problems.
I really wanted to do this but I don't know how Can you kindly tell me what commands I have to run in terminal please? Thanks!

I used synaptic and installed totem-gstreamer & it also installed totem-mozilla and everythings now back to normal!
