Nothing happened after pressing "Try Ubuntu without install"
Hi there,
I'm using Acer TravelMate 8100. I burned a live CD of Ubuntu 10.04 successfully. Then I restarted my computer. That live CD booted successfully. I chose a language (English) then I clicked "Try Ubuntu without install" (or something like that, I don't remember). It didn't do anything. The screen didn't go black or blank, instead of that, it didn't do anything. The previous screen remained staying there, no new screen appeared.
Then I pressed Esc. It let me go to a new screen looks like the previous one. The appearance is different, but the content is the same. I also clicked "Try Ubuntu without install" in this screen. Like above, nothing happened (there was no black or blank screen there, the previous screen just stayed there, nothing happened).
Then I tried "Install Ubuntu" in both screens. Nothing happened, like above.
Thanks for your help.

Did you do the md5checksum, instructions are usually on the download page?
Did you burn it as an image at a low speed?
These are the two most common reasons for failure.
Might be a good idea to post info on your graphics card.

I Googled the 8100 series, and it seems it came with either 256 or 512 MB RAM. How much do you have?

I have 1 GB Ram.
I didn't burn it at low speed (I'll try to burn it again)
But how can I do the md5checksum? (I search it on all ubuntu pages)
I think I have a problem with my downloaded file.
I'll post the info of my graphics card later.
Thank all of you for answering.

Ram isn't the problem, you have more than enough.

Check this HowTo for all the steps to properly download and burn an ISO file to disk as an image:

It also covers checking file integrity.oz
