    Using external monitors

    Hi,

I recently upgraded to Lucid Lynx and I also switched to Gnome. Previously I was using Xubuntu Karmic.

When I plug in an external monitor, my laptop Fn+F8 does not switch between displays, but it used to before the upgrade.

How can I enable this feature? I am having to use Nvidia Control panel to enable and disable screens manually which is quite a lot more of a hassle than it was before.

    Any help appreciated!

Also a rather strange thing is that on startup and shutdown, there is a really bad quality Xubuntu splash screen that was never there before. It is really blocky and ugly and looks like it is pre-ZX Spectrum! The screen switching ability is far more important though
