    [SOLVED] Mint 7 Terminal

    Hello,

I was playing around with the settings of my Mint 7 terminal, changing colors, fonts etc..

After closing, I tried to open it again by clicking on the icon and it shutsdown as soon as it opens.

I can't do anything since the preferences require me to have my terminal open in the first place.

I can access CLI though by Ctrl+Alt+F2 etc..

    Help please

    Thanks a lot!

    I got it.

Uninstalled in synaptic and installed roxterm instead. Working right now. Will reinstall gnome-terminal in a while.

    Thanks for your time!

EDIT: Reinstalled gnome-terminal and its still acting weird. opens and closes at once.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks rok!

Tried it but my terminal is still acting up strange.

I thought if I give it a fresh install I can have the default settings reset too.

Am able to use roxterm as of the moment. I hope my terminal can be fixed though.

Pretty vague there dude . What do you get in rox-terminal when you type in

    Code:
    gnome-terminal
There should be a bunch of error codes in rox-terminal when you run that command.

I have been using evilvte as a backup on my AntiX installs for Rox-Terminal. It is small and lightweight and supports transparency and right click copy and paste.

    Got it rok, just now!

    in roxterm i executed

    gnome-terminal -x resset

This opened my terminal w/c allowed to to go to preferences.

I found out that I stupidly disselected "hold terminal open" and selected "exit the terminal" instead. Its all back to normal now.

    Like your new signature. hehehe

By the way, am also enjoying antix 8.5. I maintained it in one of my partitions.

    happy trails!

Cool. Now mark the problem as solved using thread tools at top of first post so folks on the internet can use your fix when they bork Gnome-Terminal.

    Happy trails, Rok
