[SOLVED] sound problem..
Hello,
I have windows and ubuntu on same pc. I recently installed ubuntu on a partition other than windows. When I tried to play an mp3 file in ubuntu, it started downloading file and plugins. After the download, the program started playing the music but I could not hear any sound. I have no problem in playing music in windows and the speakers are working fine. Do I need to download some plugins or any software for ubuntu linux? If yes, how and from where? And how to install that?
Or is there any other problem?
Do reply..
Thanks in advance..

Is it a problem with mp3 files only? Is System Sound work fine? Do you hear sound during login or any other system sound?
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

A couple of times when installing ubuntu, I noticed the sound is muted by default. Please check if the sound is not mute, click/right-click the speaker icon on the panel to check.
