    Which version of Ubuntu are you using?

    netcdf-bin is available in Ubuntu sources. If your machine has internet access then I would suggest you to install it through Package Manager.
    Execute this in Terminal :
    Code:
    sudo apt-get update 
sudo apt-get install netcdf-bin
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
