Wireless Adapter
We need to fina a wireles adapter that works with Ubuntu. We have a netgear adapter but the OS doesn't recognize it when we plug it into the USB port and there isn't software to install so it will recognize it - only Windows documentation
Any suggestions? My daughter loves this OS and wants to keep it but can't connect to our wireless network without an adapter.
Thanks!

Hello,
We need some more information on the wireless chipset in your USB adapter.
Please open a terminal and post the output of the following two commands
Code:lsusb lsmod

Newegg.com - edimax
Two of the Edimax internal PCI wireless cards (one with a single detachable antenna, one with 2) and both work out of the box in Ubuntu 10.04.

Are we talking USB? If yes, the Belkin USB wireless adaptor works out of the box.
