    gui for ubuntu 10.04 server

    i just installed ubuntu 10.04 in my lab .i found that it doesn't have gui..I have internet connection but i cant access it since i need internet browser to give login name and password to access internet..so please tell me how to install gui in server edition.

    Ubuntu has full documentation with instructions for installing a GUI to their server edition:

    You can try command line browser like lynx.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    yeah i tried the command sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop , but it's saying package not found since i can't access my internet....

    moreover i instaled ubuntu desktop 10.04. I have packages in my cd , i copied the debian files into /etc/cache/apt/archives and i double clicked it to install...but it goes to internet to download additional packages also..but the packages are already available with me
