    Internet connection trouble

    Hi everyone,

I've installed the latest version of portable ubuntu, and it runs on my windows xp.
I understand that portable ubuntu is supposed to use my existing internet connection, but for some reason it doesn't work, meaning: I can't get ubuntu updates or surf the net using ubuntu's firefox, though in xp (running simultaneously) my internet works just fine.

I must say I did not change any default settings. Is there something I need to configure so it would work properly? I'd really appreciate it if you can tell me how.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

I have not tried the portable version of Ubuntu yet, so I am not sure if the internet and USB connections work like in a virtual machine. However, the one thing I can think of over the top of my head is, are you running a firewall on your windows machine? It might be blocking the application 'Ubuntu' from connecting to the Internet.

    Cheers
