    Installing themes

I go to System Appearance and try to install a new theme but I can't do it x_x It's looking for theme packages or whatever, but those don't come in the files downloaded from Gnome-look. All I get from theme are pictures and one xml file. How do I install with these?

Even if I can't get new themes, all I want to do is change the color of panels. Yes I can do it with indivudal panals, but apps like the windows manager still use the system theme so only the blank parts of the panels use the actual panel settings.

Most of themes at gnome-look.org has installation instructions too. Have you looked for installation instructions on web-page from where you downloaded theme?
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
