    [SOLVED] Ubuntu 10.04 freeze on pdf docs

    Whenever I open pdf documents on my Ubuntu 10.04 system, everything freezes for about a minute and then it unfreezes by itself and everything works fine. Irritating. Can someone please help?

    This happens in one of my old Debian box. Whenever I try to open a pdf file of around 4MB size, it stop responding for a few seconds.

    What is the size of pdf files? Could you post your machine's specs?
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    Size of pdf does not seem to make much difference, some are a few hundred Kb, some 1 or 2 Mb. Machine has a 160 Gb hard drive, memory 993 MiB, Intel Pentium CPU E2160 @ 1,80 GHz, available space 58,7 GiB.

    Upgrade to Ubuntu 10.10 has solved this pdf document problem and some others, the new system is great. Thanks to the team who have developed this system.
