Acer Aspire 9800 - Ubuntu 10.04 - NO SOUND in the Speakers - Only in the headphones
Hello,
I need help please.
In the Acer Aspire 9800 Laptop the sounds works with the Headphones out but in the incorporated Speakers is not working at all. The sound hardware seems to be detected but is something wrong.
I read the archives in others forums and were other users with the same problem but i can't find a concrete solution.
Can anyone help me please?
I really need fix this problem.

open volume control and go to switches, and check for a switch for external sound and click it if its disabled, if there is no switch, click preferences and see if there is one there and enable it, then you enable it on the switches tab

T tried all combinations in the sound preferences dialogues but there is no solution from there.

Since Ubuntu 10.04 uses Pulse Audio .
I recommend for more control of pulse audio
Ubuntu Manpage: padevchooser - PulseAudio Device ChooserCode:sudo apt-get install padevchooser
Works in 10.04 also. Used it to get mic working in skype also with pulse audio.
During install process it will ask if you want the deamon to autostart at boot. I chose yes.
If uncomfortable choosing yes. Write down the message in bottom of popup window so you can remember how to start manually.Linux Registered User # 475019
